ABOUT US

HBSF

The Higgins Branchini Shooting Foundation (HBSF) is a charitable organization, created to support college students competing in the clay target shooting sports.

We do this, first and foremost, because we appreciate the commitment to excellence shared among collegiate shooters. We also recognize that commitments of this sort entail tremendous sacrifices of time and resources.

In order for the shotgun shooting sports to survive and thrive, a sustainable pipeline of educated new shooters must be preserved. Our foundation believes in supporting this pipeline at the collegiate level.

Mission Statement

HBSF

The Foundation provides support to college students competing in collegiate, national, and international clay target shooting sports.

Support is furnished primarily through financial assistance — in the form of grants — geared toward offsetting, wherever possible, the ongoing expenses of competitive shooting.

It is our intention that grant recipients will have greater opportunities to hone their skills, maintain high proficiency throughout the year, and compete at venues that might otherwise be out of reach.

The Foundation's work was well described in an excellent Youth Shooting Development column by Nathan Boyd in the August 2018 issue of Clay Target Nation.

Eligibility for HBSF Grants

HBSF

College students that are members of their college or university shotgun shooting team (clay target) are automatically eligibile for HBSF assistance.

The Foundation does not provide scholarships.  Rather, our support is limited to grants to individual competitors, not teams or universities. All grant applicants are required to complete HBSF information requests as well as the application form found on this web site.

Financial assistance is available primarily to qualified individuals competing in the United States, but also extends abroad when eligible competitors are representing the U.S. in international competitions.
